The position provides design and project management of various projects with the focus on municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities. This includes prepareing contract documents and drawings, coordinating meetings, site inspections, and ensuring quality control is completed.
Project Management
Management of scope, schedule and budget for projects
Stakeholder management, client relations, and coordination with regulators and other third parties
Coordination and communication of the project team, internal project and design staff, clients and contractors
Engineering
Conceptual and preliminary engineering through assessments, investigations, research and analyses, operations, methods, valuations and other principle features
Perform detailed work through calculations, design software, material and equipment selection, reports, and assist in production of drawings
Prepare contract documents, tendering instructions, agreements, specifications, and drawings
Provide quality control reviews, reports, and contract administration
Determining scope, schedule and fees, resource planning, and preparation of proposals
Reviewing requests for proposals/quotations and evaluating suitable opportunities to pursue
Develop and maintain client relationships, assist in marketing and promotional activities and attend industry and networking events
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering in a related discipline or equivalent experience
Registered/eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Licensee with APEGS or as an Applied Science Technologist with SASTT
Minimum five years experience in the municipal field with experience in water and wastewater facilities and infrastructures
Demonstrated skill with a range of tools, analysis and design in a professional consulting practice
Technical writing capabilities
Knowledge of PM principles/processes
Knowledge of Provincial and First Nations policies, procedures, and standards
