The Town of La Ronge is a scenic lake side community offering a full range of services and amenities located in the heart of Northern Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 3,000. The community offers progressive growth amidst the natural beauty of the areas surrounding Lac La Ronge Provincial Park. Visitors travel from around the globe to experience the outdoor adventures that this region offers, and La Ronge is the hub of that region.

The Town of La Ronge is seeking an individual for the position of Public Works 2.  Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for routine residential garbage pick-up and delivery to the regional landfill disposal site; writing non-compliance notices; cleaning of municipal streets, parks, facilities and sidewalks; and maintenance and minor repairs of the refuse transfer truck. This role may also require the operation of heavy-duty equipment including the gravel truck, loader and skid steer. Persons in this position should expect to work in cold and wet weather conditions from time to time.

Qualifications for the position include: valid class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license with an air brake endorsement; physical aptitude to pull and push refuse containers up to 200lbs; willing to be immunized for Influenza, Hepatitis A and B. Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.
