Description

The Broadcast Services team, as part of Procedural Services Branch, is responsible for producing and broadcasting the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly and committees, as well as maintaining and supporting the audio and video equipment for the Chamber, committee room, and mobile broadcasts.

The Legislative Assembly Service is seeking a Broadcast Technologist to join our team.  Reporting to the Clerk Assistant, you would play an essential role in the production and direction of broadcasts of the Legislative Assembly proceedings, committees and special events; ensuring distribution to Saskatchewan residents through satellite to cable communities, video streaming and video over IP as well as four in house channels in the Legislative Building. Using your technical expertise, you will operate all equipment used in the production of legislative proceedings involving multiple broadcast centres, graphics creation, camera robotics, digital sound systems, audio/video feeds, and video editing and IP based equipment. You will also provide general maintenance for all technical aspects and equipment of the broadcast control centres and systems.  

The position requires knowledge of broadcast production and distribution, of theories, principles and concepts of electronics, and demonstrated ability for installation and maintenance of broadcast equipment. This knowledge is typically acquired through a two-year diploma in broadcast electronics, electronic systems, engineering or technology, media arts production or related field and two years of related experience.
