The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students assigned who need intervention in a separate classroom.
Prepare additional support material for the classroom that demonstrate the concepts taught in the lessons and activities that the students can use to develop their skills.
Communicate the results of testing and evaluation of assigned students to their teacher, school administrators and parents in a timely fashion.
Keep other teachers informed of any special circumstances on a need-to-know basis.
Participate with the classroom teacher, building administrator and parents to identify how much intervention help a student needs.
Work with first tier and second tier students who need interventions designed specifically for them.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 and/or some post-secondary training;
Essential skills: planning, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership and creativity skills;
Demonstrated communication (written and verbal), public relations, computer, and organizational skills;
Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and a Drivers Abstract.
