Job Description: The team lead is accountable for strategic direction, leadership, management program, development and evaluation in the areas of Primary Care Nursing. The  team lead is responsible for Primary Care Nursing and Community Health Managers in Sandy Bay and Pinehouse Lake. The  team lead is accountable for risk management, quality improvement and employee and patient safety within the Primary Care team.

The team lead will be proficient in health care administration as well as program planning and evaluation.  He/she will have an in-depth understanding of the principles/philosophies of primary care nursing and would ideally be a Nurse Practitioner or working towards it.


To qualify, you will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- A Baccalaureate or Masters degree in Nursing, Health Administration or related Health or Human Services field
- Be eligible for registration with the applicable professional association
- Significant progressively responsible leadership and management experience
- Excellent ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, complex environment
- Knowledge and experience in strategic planning, program development and evaluation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and team building experience
- Effective communicator with staff, colleagues and external partners
- Proficient in the use of computers i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet
- Knowledge, skill and commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of cultural diversity
- Knowledge of current national and provincial health care issues/trends developments
- Effective team leader able to build and maintain relationships based on trust and accountability
- Conflict resolution and effective problem solving sk
