Description

SARM is seeking a highly motivated individual for a one-year term (with possibility of extension) of Policy Coordinator, starting as soon as possible.  

SARM is the independent association that represents rural municipal government in Saskatchewan and is the principal advocate in representing them before senior governments. The SARM office is located east Regina. Employees enjoy competitive salaries and a full benefits package.

Under the direction of the Acting Manager of Policy and Research, the successful candidate will assist with advocacy efforts at the provincial and federal levels on a wide range of policy issues.

Main Responsibilities:
Research and report on municipal and agriculture issues.
Draft policy related correspondence, including letters and briefing notes.
Maintain resolution and policy tracking software.
Provide research and administrative support to other policy staff in working with SARMs internal policy committees.
Coordinate content for SARMs policy communications.

Skills and Knowledge:
Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, as well as strong organizational skills.
Exceptional writing and proof-reading abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
Knowledge of political environments.
Strong attention to detail and a desire for continuous learning.

Typically, the successful candidate will possess a degree in political science, public policy, other social sciences, or related field.

The annual salary for this position is $46,972 to $60,954.
