The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Fleet Services, is seeking a Journeyperson Mechanic for its North Battleford Repair Depot, Meadow Lake satellite location.
Under the general direction of the Service Supervisor, you will provide customer repair services to Fleet Services clients. This includes mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and Saskatchewan Government Insurance safety inspections to all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment, with services performed in the shop and field. Travel is required with the possibility of overnight stays. Competent applicants able to work in both Meadow Lake and North Battleford are welcome to apply, with preference given to those able to work in Meadow Lake.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a valid Journeyperson Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan. Fourth Year Apprentices in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Transport, or Agricultural Mechanics may be considered if no competent Journeyperson Mechanics apply, and would be required to achieve your Journeyperson Certificate within the probationary period. You will also possess a valid Class 5 operator's licence, with the ability to upgrade to Class 3A within the probationary period.
