Job Description: The Special Projects - Payroll position is accountable to the Director of Payroll/Scheduling/Benefits. The incumbent assists the Director in the development, direction and maintenance of the payroll, scheduling and benefits systems of the Region. The incumbent provides payroll, scheduling, benefits, reporting, consulting, and analysis support to the Director and Managers. Activities in this area include: review and auditing of time sheets and internal controls, preparing ad hoc reports and analysis, project assistance and various monthly tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Business Diploma from a recognized Post Secondary Institution.
Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the CPA. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.)
Advanced computer skills - extensive knowledge of database systems and spreadsheet applications, ability to extract information from other applications for the purpose of creating reports as required.
Ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations and environments and develop practical solutions and accomplish objectives.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years direct payroll and benefits experience.
Minimum of two (2) years direct accounting experience is preferred.
Geographic Location: NORTH BATTLEFORD
Expected Start Date: December 23, 2019
Expected Up To Date: June 26, 2020
FTE: 1.00
Hours of Work: In a 1 week rotation: 5 shifts of 7.50 hours
