Description

1.    Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety & comfort in the therapeutic environment.
2.    To conduct therapy for;
a)    individual
b)    couple/relationship
c)    group facilitator
d)    teen/parent conflict
e)    family
f)    Other (support, liaison, suicide intervention/prevention)
1.    Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
2.    He/She will be knowledgeable in all aspects of crisis intervention techniques and theory.
3.    Works with other members of a multi-disciplinary team in leading background activities such as current events groups, community meetings, goals groups, fitness groups, activities of daily living groups, and/or recreational activities, as appropriate to the specified client population.
4.    Charts client observations, following prescribed procedures and standards.
5.    Transport clients to and from appointments, clinics, and/or treatments, as appropriate.
6.    Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education, etc.
7.    May provide liaison with clients, families of clients, or external facilities and agencies.
8.    Skill in preparing and maintaining client records.
9.    Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions and progress.
10.    To ensure various directives and policies of the Health Program are adhered to and followed.
11.    Deal with the membership in a cordial manner and respect the confidentiality of information and records in the office.
12.    Ensure client documents are filed and kept safe.
13.    The scope of work undertaken by the Mental Health Therapist will be within their capability and qualifications.
14.    In performing their assigned tasks, the Mental Health Therapist will be required to travel from time to time.
