The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Fleet Services, is seeking a Journeyperson Welder for its North Battleford Repair Depot.
Under the general direction of the Service Supervisor, you will provide customer repair services to Fleet Services clients. This includes mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and Saskatchewan Government Insurance safety inspections to all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment, with services performed in the shop and field. Travel is required with the possibility of overnight stays.
To qualify for this position, you should possess a Journeyperson Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan; however, consideration will be given to indentured apprentices in Welding. In the event an apprentice is hired, they shall be required to achieve Journeyperson Certification within the appropriate timeframe relevant to their apprenticeship level (the timeframe will be stated in their letter of offer). You will also possess a valid Class 5 operator's licence with the ability to upgrade to Class 3A within the probationary period.
