Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our 2nd Motor Patrol Operator position in the Streets & Roads Branch of the Department of Engineering Services.  Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the 2nd Motor Patrol Operator is responsible for engaging in the excavation, maintenance and repair of City streets and lanes.

The position will also perform the following duties:
-    Maintain, repair and operate the Motor Patrol in the excavation of City streets and lanes, maintaining and repairing all City dirt and gravel roads and operating the machine with snow plow attachments in clearing streets and lanes of snow and ice
-    Fill or cut in grades for construction of new roads, lanes and drainage ditches
-    Spread gravel and other material as required
-    Perform minor repairs and maintenance of the unit by checking various oil levels, inspecting the unit and reporting all minor and major repairs

The ideal candidate will have:
-    Grade 12 education or equivalent GED
-    Experience operating a motor patrol to the required level of proficiency
-    Heavy Construction Safety Association Saskatchewan Power Mobile Certification OR minimum of 2 years documented motor patrol operating experience
-    Valid Class 3-A driver's license or ability to obtain
-    Knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act and Regulations
-    Able to maintain a harmonious working relationship with the public, outside contacts and co-workers
