Responsibilities:
-Prepare and present safety topics to site personnel
-Daily, weekly, monthly inspections
-Data entry and analysis to inform priorities utilizing leading and lagging indicators
-Warehouse/purchasing specification support
-Meeting regulatory deadlines for actions and reports
-Support Teams with respect to:
~Hazard identification and risk analysis
~Authorization and permit to work systems
~Workplace inspections, audits and observations
~Non-conformance and incident investigation
~Change Management technical support
~Contractor Management
-Emergency Response Team support such as:
~Training
~Emergency equipment maintenance checks
~Participate in the Incident Command Structure (ICS) as trained and designated
-Encourage worker participation in Safety Programs
-Provide follow up information to staff and ensure consistent implementation of the Safety Management System
-Assist in the maintenance of the SMS by preparing and updating documentation
Skills and Qualifications:
-Safety Certification or active pursuit of a certification is required (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, NEBOSH, etc.)
-Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred
-Experience in an industrial or mining environment is preferred
-Experience in the following areas is an asset:
~Hazard analysis and risk assessment
~Root cause analysis
~Behavior based safety and human factors
~Industrial Hygiene
~Emergency Response
-Knowledge of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard is considered an asset
-Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly
-Proficiency using SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office
-Past experience in the use of Synergie database is preferred
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
