Job Description: Mont St Joseph Home is a level 3 and 4 special care home with 120 residents. We are an Affiliate organization governed by a community Board of Directors.
The Home is searching for an individual to serve, on a temporary basis, as a Human Resource Consultant. This position will report to the Executive Director. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor of Commerce with a labour relations speciality and/or comparable education, training and experience. Understanding and commitment to the Eden Alternative is required.
Generally, this function will implement human resources services and strategies that improve service, achieve goals and resolve issues. Specific accountabilities include: 1) administrative functions related to hiring, evaluation and dismissal of employees 2) support and coordination of safe work practises 3) scheduling and attendance management 4) contributing and leading grievance processes and related collective agreement matters 5) supporting managers with evaluation of staffs engagement and performance 6) managing D.I.P. and W.C.B. claims and return to work 7) facilitating a positive relationship between unionized personnel and senior managers.
The successful applicant will commence these functions no later than 1 March 2020; preferably earlier and will serve in this capacity for 12 months. Compensation based on SAHO compensation guidelines.
