Description

JOB POSTING: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

We are seeking a leader who can deliver on two fronts: act as a galvanizing catalyst on behalf of the organization with partners and the community while delivering effective management of SHIPs internal operations including all aspects of staffing, financial and office management. You will be relied on to articulate our vision for strengthening current and creating new partnerships and opportunities in service to targeted demographics.

You know you are the right candidate for this position because you:
- Work with purpose.
- Are able to foster meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, as well as other groups impacted by homelessness and housing precarity including older adults, families, people with disabilities, LGBTQ people, and newcomers.
- Value a grassroots, community-centred approach and know how to build from the ground up.
- Are a patient listener and active learner who fosters open dialogue with everyone.
- Have a reputation as a catalyst with positive impact in complex situations.
- Deal comfortably with complex concepts and ambiguity, can be described as capable and agile.
- See ahead clearly, can articulate compelling pictures of possibilities and create breakthrough strategies and plans.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making that garner respect and create results.
- Understand the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan housing sector.
- Set clear objectives and measures, monitor process and progress, and achieve your goals.
- Are an experienced organizational leader and operational manager.

We are equally open to candidates with a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree and a minimum 7 years of relevant experience, and to those with an equivalent and compelling combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will be connected to and/or have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities.
