The R.M. of Laurier No. 38 is now accepting applications for a full-time (37.5 hours a week) Assistant Administrator. Working alongside the Municipal Administrator, the preferred candidate will bring:
*Rural Class C Certificate in Local Government Administration or be willing to achieve such designation.
*Successful completion of an accounting, marketing and/or business degree from a recognized institution.
*Experience in Office computer applications.
*Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism.
*Ability to supervise and performance manage other individuals towards common goals.
*Experience with budgets or accounting practices in environments exceeding one-million dollars.
*While operation of equipment (tractors, mowers,etc.) is not required, general understanding in how they operate would be preferred.
*Proven ability to work effectively in an environment with competing priorities.
*Well established research, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, as well as strong organizational skills.
*Ability to engage and work effectively with the public and community groups.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex and technical information in a prompt, positive and understandable manner.
The Assistant Administrator shall be bondable and will ensure municipal functions are carried out in a confidential, efficient, accurate and collaborative manner, in accordance with municipal legislation, policies and procedures. Duties of the Assistant Administrator include but are not limited to the key areas of:
*Fiscal management including municipal taxation and maintenance of assessment records.
*Legislation and governance including the development and processing of bylaws, policies and procedures.
*Supervision including multiple direct reports.
*Customer service including public relations, building partnerships, and social media management.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
