Recently, SED has developed carbon fiber composite antennas for the next wave of high bandwidth internet-over-satellite. To continue the endeavour into cutting edge manufacturing technologies, SED is looking for individuals who share our passion for new and innovative ideas.

The Manager, Production is accountable for managing the entire pool of manufacturing labour resources and for the execution of manufacturing activities on each project across multiple production facility locations.

Duties:

  - Manage the planning and execution of manufacturing activities on projects including scheduling of manufacturing resources to projects
  - Manage plant expansions and physical resource allocation with facility layout planning
  - Enforce lean practices as part of continuous manufacturing improvement
  - Prepare and recommend departmental budgets, as well as manage and report against approved budgets
  - Create product specific costing structures to use when bidding on new projects
  - Provide manufacturing planning support to the Director during new project development phases
  - Facilitating the creation of new templates and standards to improve company-wide manufacturing processes
  - Assist in planning an ERP upgrade and inventory management systems
  - Manage staff including recommending personnel hires, review of resumes, interviews and selection, personnel evaluations and career development

Requirements:
  - Post secondary business administration certificate or equivalent
  - 6-10 years in a senior role within a manufacturing environment
  - Experience in providing fabrication cost rollups for product lines
  - Familiarity with project management software
  - Working with ISO 9001 systems/accreditation
  - Lean manufacturing certificate and/or a PMP designation is considered an asset
