Recently, SED has developed carbon fiber composite antennas for the next wave of high bandwidth internet-over-satellite. To continue the endeavour into cutting edge manufacturing technologies, SED is looking for individuals who share our passion for new and innovative ideas.

Duties:
  -Provides production status reporting and is responsible for the daily scheduling and operations of the facility
  -Convert long-term project schedule into weekly production schedules for fabricators
  -Preparation and presentation of weekly production status updates
  -Preparation of routine monthly safety data summaries and equipment maintenance reports
  -Conduct daily huddles with production team for weekly alignment on goals/tasks
  -Create and maintain visual schedules for work within the process area
  -Allocate inventory and manage materials consumption
  -Plan Fabricator labour resources and resolution of short term re-assignments
  -Ensure single-points-of-failure within the team functions are addressed through adequate cross-training
  -Oversee and provide leadership to the production staff within the facility
  -Assist with Fabricator recruiting, resume review, interviews and selection
  -Coordinate training of new fabricators with in-house and external training programs

Requirements:
  -5 years of manufacturing leadership experience such as a shop foreman, production coordinator or team leader
  -Excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to successfully plan and organize workloads.
  -Competence in the use of personal computers and software including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project (or equivalent) and Windows
  -Knowledge of health and safety laws
  -Lean training and composites manufacturing experience is considered an asset
