Description

Purpose of the Position:
The LDSCR is looking to fill the position of Youth Consultant. Based out of Prince Albert, this is a permanent, full-time position. As the LDSCR Youth Consultant you would be responsible for the management, coordination and facilitation of all activities related to the LDSCRs youth leadership development and after school program initiatives.

The Candidate:
We are looking for an energetic and creative individual who is able to work independently, but is also able to contribute and utilize their skills in a team setting. You will possess strong public relations skills, including public speaking and will have the ability to develop a vision and facilitate the design and delivery of youth leadership training and after school recreation programs.

In cooperation with our staff, partners and stakeholders, you will develop and maintain positive working relationships, deliver projects and initiatives on-time and on budget and have a demonstrated ability for program planning, facilitation and scheduling.

Job Duties:
On a day to day basis you will:

    Facilitate and coordinate youth leadership training initiatives including Take the Lead!, HIGH FIVE and Play Leadership workshops;
    Assist and support communities and schools to create strategies that will address youth leadership issues and needs;
    Meet with partners and stakeholders;
    Measure identified outcomes and assess community impact;
    Promote healthy lifestyle choices and activities;
    Investigate opportunities for cooperative youth programming;
    Update information on the LDSCR website, newsletter and social media sites;
    Prepare and submit grant applications as needed.
