Job Description: The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible to support system-wide improvement and be proficient in leading and supporting Kaizen Planning, replication and Standard Work, RPIW's, 3P events, Kanban and 5S campaign.  This position must demonstrate through personal commitment support for the strategies, values, culture and beliefs of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the strategic and operating plans of the Quality & safety portfolio.  The incumbent must support innovation and contribute to a positive working climate which is patient and family centered.
Required Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree
The incumbent will demonstrate interest and ability in teaching/coaching, change management, process improvement, utilization of Kaizen tools, audit process, goal attainment and use of quantitative and qualitative research tools.  
Demonstrated ability in project management and ability work and communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization and in teams requiring significant diplomacy in dealing with information, staff, physicians and leaders.  
This position is expected to become a Lean Leader and fulfill maintenance requirements.  
The incumbent must possess the ability to operate a personal computer; utilizing spreadsheet and word processing applications, normal office equipment, video camera and other imaging equipment used in support of Kaizen activities.  
Experience:
3-5 years of successful employment and leadership in increasingly challenging positions.  
Experience with project management applications such as Microsoft Project and advanced level Excel are an asset.

Expected Start Date: January 13, 2020
Expected Up To Date: March 31, 2020
FTE: 0.50

Hours of Work: In a 2 week rotation: 5 shift
