Description

Main Street Swift Current is seeking an individual for the position of Operations Support Intern for Swift Currents Main Street Program.  This position will assist the Main Street Coordinator in all aspects of the program. Starting January 6th, 2020 to April 30th. This is an out of scope full time intern position. Reporting to the Director and the Main Street Coordinator, you will assist in all operations of the Main Street Program.
Duties will include research, writing statements of significance regarding heritage properties.  You will assist in the development of strategies for preservation-based economic development in collaboration with the Main Street Board of Directors. You will assist in the development of and conduct ongoing public awareness and educational programs to create appreciation and awareness of the Main Street approach.  You will prepare presentations, handout materials, and effectively make visual presentations on the program's direction, activities, and achievements.

Basic Requirements:
    Preference will be given to a candidate that has obtained a diploma or degree in Business Administration, Heritage Management, History or other related field within the past 24 months;
    A willingness to obtain a Criminal Record and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer.
    Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English language. Confidence and clarity in public speaking is required;
    An understanding of Microsoft Office, photoshop. And design software.
    A valid drivers license is required for this position.
