Verdient Foods, a major plant-based protein food ingredient company, is currently seeking a QA/QC Inspector to join their growing team in Saskatchewan. Based in Vanscoy, SK, this individual will be responsible for quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure food safety and product quality.
Responsibilities:
Ensure food safety and product quality.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control duties including sampling and testing of raw materials and finished products.
Verify processes and procedure to ensure compliance to established requirements.
Monitor and enforce GMPs, and communicate corrective actions as required.
Verify functionality of lab instrumentation, including calibration of equipment.
Audit and verify product quality and specifications
Monitor and verify HACCP and Food Safety Programs for effectiveness.
Identify and communicate required corrective actions and propose preventative measures.
Investigate non-conformances and collaborate with other departments for resolution.
Reporting, documentation and training
Collect, analyze and verify data to produce accurate reporting on results and trends.
Maintain accurate quality assurance records.
Implement company-wide GMP training.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
A degree/diploma in a Science related discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Microbiology or Biological Sciences) . A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Availability for 12-hour shift-work (including night shift)
HACCP/GMP knowledge is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to details and willingness to learn.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
