Palliser Plains Co-op is growing independent retail that is part of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). Reporting to the Agro Division Manager, the Agro Accounts Manager will be responsible for consulting with and offering leading knowledge and appropriate recommendations to our valued growers and customers in the northern region of our Co-op. The incumbent will work closely with the Agro Team to ensure that the business operates sustainably while actively seeking out sales and growth opportunities.
The successful candidate must demonstrate effective team leadership skills and the ability to work well within a multi-generational team. A degree or certificate applicable to the position is an asset, however, not a requirement. Professional certifications are an asset (P. Ag., CCA, CCSC, 4R). A combination of related experience and education will be considered.
The successful candidate will:
-Have an intuitive understanding of farm business management.
-Have a strong agricultural background in sales, accounts management, agronomy.
-Promote the Co-op brand.
-Work closely with the Agro Division Manager to achieve regional territory goals, objectives and responsibilities.
-Focus on growing our customer base and the sale of Agro products.
-Provide top value and customer service.
-Be responsible for crop planning, scouting, and other agronomy at the senior level.
-Be detail oriented, accurate & capable of attaining high levels of production with minimum supervision.
-Communicate effectively and professionally with members and customers.
-Have a positive attitude and the drive to succeed in an environment that can demand long hours in the busy season.
-Have a valid drivers license and are bondable.
