Facility: MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Services and or the Adult Social Worker Senior, the incumbent is responsible for day-to-day client service delivery.
This field position is accountable for the provision of clinical counselling services to adult outpatients as required in Mental Health and Addictions. Job description available upon request.
Required Qualifications
Valid Drivers License
Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Bachelor Degree in Psychology. Other degrees in human services (i.e. nursing) may be considered with extensive experience in counseling.
Experience
Knowledge and experience in the areas of Family Violences, New Choices for Men Program, Depression Support, Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety and Phobias, etc.
Experience in assessing and training of personality and cognitive disorders, program development and delivery.
Knowledge of human behaviour, group dynamics, how to present and explain materials, lead discussions, etc.
Knowledge of treating mood disorders, generalized anxiety and phobias, theory of abuse, factors leading to and perpetrating abuse.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Counseling skills
Knowledge of the mental health services act and regulations
Knowledge of a Client Centered Case Management Approach
Proficient in computer software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Ability to provide individual, group, family and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
This position is a Field Hours position.
Travel within and external to the former Kelsey Trail Health Region is required.
