Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Judicial Programs, or her designate, the CSO/FO Caseworker will be responsible for registering & monitoring client files and creating and maintaining a positive first impression for John Howard Society clients, staff and public and support the Fine Options Program.

Duties
Utilize communication skills to ensure a positive image of the John Howard Society in the community
Interview all persons referred to the local office under the above programs
Locate appropriate job placements for these clients
Monitor placements and the appropriateness of the placement agency
Develop and expand the list of suitable placement agencies
Ongoing monitoring of placement agencies to assure their suitability for, and satisfaction with, the program
Ensure that all billings/stats are maintained accurately and forwarded to the Provincial Office and funders
Provide referrals to placement clients as appropriate
Provide such reports, records, stats and budget info as required by the program criteria established by JHSS
Maintain an appropriate and accessible filing system
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Combination of University Bachelors degree in a relevant field, work experience in an administrative/data entry/reception type of role for minimum 1 year, and experience in working with community partners, court and/or Justice partners
Demonstrated track record of quality customer service
Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft suite of programs
Valid Drivers License

Knowledge/Skills
Some familiarity with the problems and characteristics of disadvantaged persons
Understanding of the importance of quality customer service
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced context while performing multiple duties
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships with public
