Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Fighters complement the work of our career Fire Fighters and are a vital component of the Fire Department.  Auxiliaries provide a supporting role to our career Fire Fighters in terms of fire suppression, fire prevention and public education, dangerous goods and other public safety services.

We are looking for individuals who:
    Have completed Grade 12 or GED equivalency;
    Have a valid Drivers License and able to achieve a Class 3 License;
    Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer;
    Are physically fit;
    Have an employer willing to sign a waiver to permit the Auxiliary Fire Fighter to respond from their job to emergency situations; and
    Can successfully complete job-related tests and interview.

Benefits Provided to Auxiliary Fire Fighters:
    Retainer fee ($150 - $250 per month)
    Hourly compensation rate ($17.50 to $20.50 per hour)
    Protective clothing, station-wear uniform
    Workers Compensation and disability/life insurance coverage
    Training provided to be certified in NFPA 472, 1001 & 1002
