The Senior Information Security Specialist is responsible for day to day operations to ensure compliance with eHealth information security policies, standards, and guidelines, along with legal and legislative requirements. This role accomplishes this by the implementation of new security solutions, monitoring the networks for security issues, identify and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities, install security software, and resolve any security issues or breaches. Senior Security Specialist will play a key role in all investigations pertaining to employee access, assets, and the use of company assets. The Senior Security Specialist ensures all stakeholders are aware that there is the proper authority to proceed and that those are involved are on a need to know basis.
Responsibilities:
This role will facilitate Network Security Analysis (Identification & Analysis of Network Security Risks) across eHealth Saskatchewan. This role will be involved in the identification of Network security risks, cataloging and analyzing them.
This role will be responsible for administering Network security tools such Deep-Packet inspection tools and network traffic analysis tools.
This role will be responsible for investigating Network elements of Security Incidents across the organization.
Monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems, taking proactive and appropriate action when required
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have foundational Network security certifications e.g.; CCNA Security (unless candidate possesses higher network security certifications).
Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) or CCIE security Certification
CISSP or ability to obtain a similar cybersecurity certification within one year of hire.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science along with at least 5+ years direct information security experience
