Description

In accordance with the National Standards set out by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and YWCA Regina agency standards, the incumbent will provide assistance in casework and administration to the YWCA Regina Big Sisters Leadership & Mentorship Coordinator. They will be responsible for matching volunteer mentors with children and youth, and monitoring those matches to ensure healthy development of the relationships. The role may vary depending on community needs and program growth. The Coordinator will work within the guidelines, policies, and mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) and YWCA Regina, and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.

Responsibilities Include:
Program Coordination & Match Maintenance:
    Assist in recruitment, intake, screening, supervision, and evaluation of Big Sisters mentors
    Conduct child and youth enrollments including in-person parent/child interview assessments, safety education, and enrollment processes
    Conduct the Pre-Match Training  and Child Safety training program with mentors, mentees, and parents/guardians
    Coordinate follow-up phone calls and correspondence required with families, children, youth, and school liaisons.
    Facilitate ongoing match monitoring and case notes, in accordance with BBBSC National Standards and agency policy to ensure match safety, relationship development, positive youth development, and volunteer satisfaction.
    Maintain confidentiality as outlined in agency Privacy and Confidentiality Policy
    Assist in the coordination, planning, and organization of monthly events
