Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join SAMAs Information Services Branch as a System Administrator in this full-time, permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Information Services Systems, the incumbent is responsible for performing the maintenance and support of the Agencys servers and networks, setting staff configurations profiles, performing second-line support to staff to resolve hardware and software problems and maintaining the working condition of the Agency's technology and communications equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
-Monitor assigned resources and service deliveries to ensure quality and timeliness;
-Monitor warranty claims, software licenses and hardware inventory;
-Conduct regular system checks, monitor performance daily for hardware and software operations and report on variances from service level goals;
-Coach, mentor and assist IS staff as required;
-Administer the Agency's networks and server accounts;
-Maintain the working condition of technology and communications equipment;
-Administer and ensure data backups are completed and valid;
-Provide configuration and deployment of servers, software, printing resources and network devices;
-Research, test and support new network systems and services;
-Deploy and decommission technology including servers, network, monitors, work stations, laptops, docking stations and other peripherals;
-Purchase new hardware, software and contract support services;
-Other duties within the scope of this position.
