Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client; a locally owned and operated Equipment Leasing Company to recruit for an experienced and effective Collections Specialist to join their Saskatoon team.

As a key member of the credit and collections team, the Collections Specialists primary responsibility is assessing credit risk and making credit decisions. This position will also be responsible for collecting balances on past due accounts and initiating further action as required.

The Role:
Responsible for making collections calls on overdue accounts and negotiate appropriate payment arrangements
Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts, work with the Accounting and Finance team on delinquent accounts
Investigate historical data for each debt or bill
Find and contact clients to ask about their overdue payments
Take actions to encourage timely debt payments
Process payments and refunds
Resolve billing and customer credit issues

The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum 5 years of success in a credit role complemented by a minimum of 3 years of collections experience
Agricultural lending knowledge or agriculture sector familiarity is a must
Working knowledge of the Federal Farm Debt Mediation Act and Saskatchewan Farm Security Act (or aptitude to learn) considered an asset
Basic accounting aptitude complemented by financial statement analysis
Strong attention to detail complemented by sound decision making and critical thinking skills
