The Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan is looking for a Finance Officer, reporting directly to the Executive Director.
Job Description
Qualifications
University Degree in Finance considered a strong asset.
Post secondary training mandatory in the area of Finance.
3-5 years directly related experience.
Principle Responsibilities
To contribute to the effective running on our organization, providing financial and administrative support under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director.
To support the Executive Director to ensure financial policies and budgets are being developed and adhered to.
To assist in the day to day accounting procedures and recording of all financial transactions accurately within the financial software (Simply Accounting)
In close coordination with the Executive Director, maintains a system to monitor and forecast cash requirements to meet funders requirements.
Monitor, report and verify UPIP Contribution Agreement requirements with Friendship Centre Agreements and ensure cashflows, reports and expenses align with eligible expenses according to the Agreement.
Specific Duties
To assist the Executive Director in the administration of the Sage Accounting system;
To monitor expenditure against budget headings and report any variances across all cost centres;
To assist the Executive Director with matters relating to accounts and audits regarding preparation and audit of accounts.
To assist with general office duties, such as answering phones, filing and assisting Executive Director as needed.
Mandatory Experience
3-5 years of experience working with accounting software. Strong preference will be given to experience with Sage Accounting.
Non-Profit organization experience will be considered a strong asset.
Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll experience.
Monthly & Year end closing experience is a must.
