The City of Weyburn is a multifaceted organization employing much of the local public in a variety of meaningful careers. The City strives to be an engaged and diverse employer with approximately 105 employees, increasing to over 130 during summer months.

The City of Weyburn Leisure Services Department is offering an exciting summer employment opportunity for two (2) students. The Lifeguard/Instructor positions are key components to the Leisure Services Department as they provide program information to the public, administer emergency procedures, enforce aquatic safety policies and facility operating policies as well as provide instruction for Red Cross swimming lessons.

Responsibilities:
- Work a variety of shifts as well as weekends to meet the program requirements;
- Attend in-service training sessions as well as utilize set pool times for personal fitness and maintenance of certification levels;
- Administer emergency procedures, enforce aquatic safety policies as well as facility operating policies;
- Maintain a positive attitude with public and staff to ensure a harmonious working relationship;
- Assist with pool maintenance and other program services when necessary;
- Maintain and upgrade certifications as required;
- Report any unsafe condition(s) to immediate supervisor;
- Instruct Red Cross swimming lessons; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Students hired must be at least 15 years of age, enrolled as a student at a secondary or post-secondary school or institution; and
- Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR-C, WSI and Red Cross Lifeguard or NLS.
