The Community Health Manager is a Registered Nurse and is an integral part of the PBCNHS Management Team. Reporting directly to the Clinical Services Manager, the position will work in a collaborative role to provide leadership, management and support to the Community Health programs including but not limited to the pre-postnatal, chronic diseases, mens & womens wellness, mental health nursing, special needs children and maternal child health (the Programs). The position is based out of the central office in Prince Albert and requires extensive travel to the PBCN communities.
Education:
Must be registered with the SRNA and licensed as an RN(AAP) (preferred);
Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C;
ITLS, PALS, & ACLS Certification or willingness to obtain;
Current NITHA Innoculist certification, or must be obtained within 1 month of hiring.
Experience:
Extensive experience (at least 5 years) working in Community Health Nursing programs preferably in First Nation communities;
Minimum 2 years experience in immunization;
Experience developing policies, procedures and protocols;
Experience in monitoring budgets, agreements and contracts;
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records would be an asset;
Experience in developing and distributing promotional material;
Two or more years working in a management position is desirable.
Enhanced knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diabetes and other common chronic diseases and illnesses; pre-postnatal, maternal child health, and special needs children.
Knowledge of community development and facilitation strategies.
Valid drivers license.
