Description

The La Ronge Barber Field Airport is seeking an individual to assist on a term basis with the operation and maintenance of the airport as defined by Transport Canada as a Certified Airport. Reporting to the Airport Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily operations, inspections and security of all airside and groundside surfaces, equipment, and facilities; seasonal maintenance on runways, taxiways, aprons and airport roads and maintenance of all airfield lighting systems in accordance with the Airport Safety Management System standards and the Canadian Aviation Regulations TP312. Upon successful completion of applicable training, the Airport Operator may also be required to assume on-call duty and the role as on-scene emergency coordinator. The position requires the operation of heavy duty equipment including snow plow, loader, tractor and grader. Physical labour including the use of small tools (i.e. shovels, rakes) and activities such as asphalt crack sealing are also required. This position is being filled to cover a parental leave, tentatively scheduled to begin March 23, 2020 and conclude September 2020.

Qualifications for the position include: valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license and basic computer skills. Experience operating heavy equipment and/or airport experience is considered an asset.
