The Public Employees Benefit Agency (PEBA) of the Ministry of Finance is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to support the pension boards in decision-making, ensuring the boards operate within their governance framework and legal authority.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Governance and Legislation, the Senior Governance Analyst would be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of a governance framework, reflecting best practices and the needs and preferences of the pension boards; supporting the pension boards in decision-making to ensure the boards operate within their governance framework and legal authority; applying the necessary processes to support the boards in their operational requirements; and amending the statutes, regulations and orders-in-council governing the pension plans as necessary.
Typically, to qualify for this position, our candidate of choice will have completed post-secondary education in administration, public policy, economics, or combination of education and related experience; experience with legislative processes and government reporting structures; experience working with boards of directors or similar governing bodies; and knowledge of pension plans, pension theory, pension plan design, the Income Tax Act (Canada), The Pension Benefits Act, 1992 (Saskatchewan), and Saskatchewan public sector pension plan statutes.
