Description

Leading Thunderbird Lodge is seeking a mature, responsible and professional individual for a Night Youth Care Worker who will be responsible for the supervision, physical care, life skills coaching and behavior management.  

Some of the duties will include:
Ability to use good judgment, and follow the Mission and Vision of the Lodge
Participate in shift change debriefings
Record all required and appropriate incident/events
Provide supervision, protection and care of the youth
Maintain a positive attitude in interactions with youth, co-workers, guardians
Must stay awake during shift
Duties such as cleaning/sanitizing, replenishing of supplies, laundry, etc
Conduct regular room checks on each resident
Ability to be flexible in following the schedule in light of unforeseen events/incidents

Shift times:  12:00 a.m.  8:00 a.m.
Must have training in the following areas or proven work experience:
ASIST (Suicide Intervention)
NVCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention)
First Aid/CPR & AED
Medication Administration
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.  Starting date as soon as possible.

Minimum qualifications:  Grade 12 or equivalent and experience in working with youth.  A certificate in Addictions Youth Care Worker would be an asset.  Must have a valid drivers license, drivers abstract, CPIC & Vulnerable Sectors check.  Applicants must lead an addictions free lifestyle, promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming.  Also, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team.
