The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Environment and Biotech Division has an immediate opening for a Lab Glassware Washer in its Environmental Analytical Laboratories. This is a four-month term position with the possibility of extension.
Accountabilities
Wash, clean and store various forms of labware according to cleaning procedures
Participate in sample disposal involving small amounts of acid and organic mixtures
Ensure cleaning water meets the specified requirements
Qualifications
Familiarity with standard operating procedures and safe work practices in a lab environment is an asset
Skills
A team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multitasking and organizational skills
Ability to understand and carry out written procedures
Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
Necessary training will be provided
Requirements
Able to stand for up to 8 hours a day over a sink, bending forward and twisting
Lift up to 10 lbs throughout the work shift, including carrying glassware and lifting above the shoulders
Walk throughout the lab, including up and down one flight of stairs
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
