Description

Position Overview:  
The successful candidate will join SAMAs Assessment Services Division in this full-time, 24 month term position. Reporting to the Regional Manager and as a member of the Weyburn Assessment Team, the Appraisal Agrologists responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Applying assessment methods and procedures in the valuation of agricultural land and urban properties throughout the region;
- Applying recognized valuation approaches to determine the values of agricultural and non-agricultural land, single-family and multi-family dwellings, duplexes, apartments, commercial, and light industrial properties
- Inputting and processing collected valuation data into the Agency's mass appraisal computer system
- Researching and responding to enquiries from the general public and government officials

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan or other recognized university with a major in Soil Sciences, Agronomy, or Agricultural Economics.  You must also be registered or eligible for registration as an Articling Agrologist or Professional Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists (SIA).

Candidates must have excellent public relations and communication skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement to make sound decisions.  Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) and a valid class five (5) drivers licence are position requirements.
