Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a leader in industrial refrigeration, to recruit a Mechanical Designer for their Saskatoon office.

The Role: SEE OUR WEBSITE FOR FULL REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Work closely with the Design Engineers to produce 2D drawings and 3D models, supporting the design of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This includes compressor sizing, pipe sizing, heat reclaim strategies, equipment selection, and review of control requirements
Prepare and support scheduling of work plans in Microsoft Project
Generate, issue, and update engineering documentation including (but not limited to) customer submittals, site instructions, construction drawings, system design schematics, construction manuals, commissioning manuals, and owners maintenance manuals
Review and analyze piping designs to ensure safe and efficient installation and operation
The Ideal Candidate:
Post-secondary diploma in civil, mechanical, geomatics, or environmental systems technology, with certification (or eligibility for certification) as an Applied Science Technologist with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians
Minimum of two years progressively responsible experience in a related role
Detail-oriented & willing to put a great amount of care into your work
Excellent organizational skills are a must, with the capacity to prioritize workflow and work with minimal supervision
Proven ability to accurately produce, read, and interpret engineering plans and specifications
Valid drivers license with clean abstract
Tech-savvy, competent in the use of AutoCAD (focus on P&ID and mechanical design), Microsoft Project, and the entire Microsoft Office Suite
Full English proficiency, with the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and with external partners
