Description

Global Food and Ingredients (GFI) is a fast-growing Canadian owned and operated food and ingredients company.  

GFI is currently recruiting for Maintenance/Operators on the evening shift to support our facilities in Lajord and Vigro (Sedley), Saskatchewan.


Responsibilities
Complying with all health and safety procedures
Unloading and receiving deliveries of pulses and specialty crops, including weighing and documentation
Providing friendly service to farmers and truckers delivering pulses and specialty crops
Taking samples of pulses and specialty crops for quality analysis
Operating grain processing equipment including cleaning, handling, bagging and storing of pulses and specialty crops
Operating facility control systems
Operating bagging equipment and handling up to 25 kg bags of pulses and/or specialty crops
Preparing and loading export shipments in rail cars and containers
Preparing shipping documentation and maintaining pulses/specialty crops samples
Operating a forklift as needed
Helping to ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
Servicing/repairing equipment and minor installations as needed
Ensuring the facility is clean, including sweeping, brushing down equipment and vacuuming any residue
Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications
Able to repair equipment and do minor installations
Able to operate grain processing equipment
Safety-conscious
Background in agriculture and/or experience operating cleaning equipment
Physical ability to perform the required duties of the role within a specialty crops facility
Able to handle bags (lifting, stacking) up to 25kg (~50lbs)
Ability to work night shifts, or day shifts as required
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license.
Forklift licence and experience operating a forklift is an asset, or a willingness to be trained/certified
Reliable transportation to and from the facilities
