Job Description: AS A MEMBER OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, THE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH NURSE IS AN INTEGRAL MEMBER OF THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE USE OF ASSESSMENT TOOLS, SCREENING, CRISIS INTERVENTION, COUNSELING, GOAL PLANNING, CONSULTATION, PREPARATION OF REPORTS, DATA COLLECTION, GROUP COUNSELING, CLIENT/FAMILY AND PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH NURSE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE PROVISION OF COMMUNITY-BASED MENTAL HEALTH NURSING, PSYCHOTHERAPY, AND RELATED INTERVENTION SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS DIAGNOSED WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, IN ADDITION TO ASSISTING WITH THE GENERAL ADULT AND CHILD & YOUTH SERVICES CASELOADS.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Workplace Assessment and Violence Education Certificate
Experience
Five years' experience in mental health settings, in particular experience working in a community rural setting required. Experience in adult mental health counselling.

Advanced communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to adapt to changing conditions
Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Advanced assessment skills
