Description

The Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Internal Audit program to credit unions. You will manage internal audit activities, determine the nature of the audit engagements, support engagement planning, provide oversight, review working papers and issue final reports. You will present findings to multiple stakeholders including credit union executives, boards of directors and audit committees. You will support a group of management consultants and liaise with credit union clients to ensure their audit issues are resolved and needs met. This position will also support the delivery of the IT Assessment service to credit unions including cybersecurity risks and recommendations. As a seasoned professional, you will build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, external auditors, clients and stakeholders. You will also ensure best practices are met by maintaining knowledge of changes in the financial services sector and regulatory and compliance environment. This position requires flexibility and travel.

The Candidate:
Our ideal candidate will have a degree in business administration/commerce coupled with a Certified Internal Auditor designation. A professional accounting designation would be an asset. You have extensive knowledge of internal audit standards and best practices including knowledge of the cybersecurity environment and associated risks. You understand the legislative and compliance environment of Saskatchewan credit unions and the overall financial services sector. You are an expert communicator and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with multiple stakeholders. You possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and have the ability to exercise sound judgment while providing recommendations and solutions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize are key requirements for this role.
