Position and Responsibilities
Working with the corporate office and McArthur River teams, you will be responsible for providing mine engineering expertise and leadership to an underground uranium mine site. Core duties include mine design, planning and scheduling, as well as project support
You will work with various software such as Vulcan, have strong experience in mine design, planning and scheduling, and be familiar with mine ventilation, drilling and blast stoping, ground control, ground freeing, underground backfilling and other activities required to support underground development, production and construction in a geo-technically challenging environment.
You will be an expert on the operation of McArthur River mining methods and site practices. Other project activities will include QMS clean-up, underground mineralized waste disposal, scoop automation, ventilation on demand (VOD) and integrated planning and scheduling.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in geological, geotechnical or mine engineering
At least 10 years of experience in underground mining or progressive mine engineering positions, or equivalent
You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Willing to work at the corporate office in Saskatoon as well as work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Experience working with mine scheduling software and Vulcan
