Description

You will be responsible for the production of bulk and packaged livestock feed for our customers. This includes the supervision of production and maintenance staff, as well as budgeting and coordinating approved projects for feed plant maintenance and upgrades. You will supervise the feed manufacturing business within an operating budget and meet or exceed standards in feed quality, food safety, and occupational health and safety.  

You will supervise production of livestock feed which includes coordinating employee schedules and working with employees to prioritize production scheduling. This also involves balancing incoming ingredients and the required production sequence needed to produce feed products.
You will be responsible for the feed plants operational budget. This includes negotiating tenders from contractors for service to the feed plants repair and maintenance program and recommend strategic improvements regarding maintenance and expansion.
You will be responsible for hiring and training unionized feed plant production employees, maintaining plant production records, ensuring all aspects of the Feed Department Safety program are adhered to, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You have a two-year diploma.
You have a minimum of 6-9 years of relevant experience. Directly related feed plant supervisory experience is an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
A Firemans certificate in Power Engineering or 5th Class Power Engineer is considered an asset.
