Description

The HSE Coordinator's responsibility is to assist the HSE Manager in the daily operation of the department and in the promotion of the overall safety environment within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as required.
-Assist Management and supervision in attaining compliance with Saskatchewan workplace health and safety legislation
-Assist in managing all HSE records accordingly
-Support management and supervision with identifying workplace hazards, understanding the risk and significant aspects of the tasks being performed, and assisting in assuring the appropriate control measures are implemented
-Monitor and evaluate progress of the specified objectives, targets and HSE plan
-Assist in the development of all Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) / Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
-Assist or lead inspections and audits in accordance with health, safety and environment program elements.
-Attend and where necessary lead site safety meetings.
-Promote safe and healthy work environment and conditions.  As able, provide clarification on interpretations of regulatory or legislative requirements.
-Maintain safety equipment located in various areas of the plant
-Facilitate and assist supervision in completing incident investigations
-Conduct new employee, visitor, and contractor safety orientations as required
-Assist in emergency evacuation procedures
-Assist the HSE Manager in any other required duties to support the HSE department

Qualifications:
NCSO certification or equivalent training and certificates are considered an asset
1-year experience in Health, Safety and Environment
First Aid / AED / CPR Level C
WHMIS 2015
