Description

Family Support Workers provide support to at-risk families allowing children to remain in parental care. The Family Support (FS) team will support families who are in crisis and are having difficulty meeting the safety needs of their children on an emergent or ongoing basis.

Casual staff are needed to fill evening and weekend shifts
Specifically looking for staff available on short notice.

Work within a family home providing direct support in potential high risk situations
Respond quickly to emergent needs as identified by PWAS, Community Partners and the Ministry of Social Services
Assist parents to access services and navigate potentially threatening situations
Ability to think outside the box creating sustainable, attainable safety plans
Mentor parent and other adult caregivers on healthy parenting and coping skills
Assist families to identify potential support networks, and connect with relevant alternative caregivers and/or professionals that can provide support to families in time of crisis before a crisis occurs
Help families to increase their knowledge of where to seek assistance
Maintain documentation and ensure appointments are followed through
Immediately report any unsatisfactory working conditions to Coordinator or Supervisor
Knowledge of community resources and how to access them
Commitment to additional learning opportunities and continual growth
Take appropriate steps to maintain mental, emotional and overall wellbeing

Must possess a valid SK drivers license
