Description

The City of Prince Albert is looking to fill the casual position of Recreation Assistant at the Arts Centre. The function of this role is to monitor programs and facility operations and respond to the needs and inquiries of the Program Instructors, Participants and Customers.  

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor activities throughout the recreation facility and prevent accidents through the enforcement of rules, policies and regulations governing the conduct of persons using the facility while promoting a leisure atmosphere.
Handle cash including but not limited to product sales, receipting, counting and balancing (i.e. taking program registrations and selling art supplies).
Respond to accidents and emergencies through prescribed procedures.
Assist with development and implementation of programs in response to public needs.
Ensure work and program areas are maintained in a neat, tidy and safe manner and report facility deficiencies.
Communicate with the public on facility rules, policies, and regulations to enhance public knowledge and safety and ensure adherence.  

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12; or
Grade 10 if a continuing full-time student
Knowledge and interest in recreation (sport, physical activity, culture or recreation) programming.
Ability to communicate effectively with the customers, public and co-workers.
Self-starter and an ability to work with minimal supervision.
First Aid and CPR C Certification from a recognized institution is an asset
