Description

The David Aplin is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager to join and grow our client's local finance team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will possess proven leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements. In addition, the Accounting Manager will require the ability to deeply understand the upstream and downstream impact of the accounting processes, as well as a desire to leverage this understanding to train and coach others.

The Accounting Manager reports to the Assistant Controller.
As an integral member of the broader Finance Team, the primary functions of the role involve the leadership and direction of a centralized Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Routine collaboration with the broader Finance members, within Saskatoon and outside, is required to ensure alignment of entries and processes across all Special Business Units

Key Accountabilities
Leading a team of 6-7 accounts payable/receivable administrators ensuring accurate and timely processing of commodity settlements, non-commodity invoices and customer cash applications.
Issuance of daily/weekly payments, partnering with Corporate Treasury on cash requirements, cash usage and interest calculations.
Subledger integrity monitoring, ageing reporting and month-end reconciliation.

Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
CPA designation is required
5+ years of Finance/Accounting experience
2+ years of Team Leadership & Management expertise
Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work activities
