Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position will facilitate timely pick-up and delivery of solid waste, recycling & organics within Saskatoon and surrounding area. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with a Saturday 7:00am to 3:00pm shift once a month.
Duties:
- Analyze, route & relay incoming calls and service locations to drivers using the two-way radio or telephone
- Effectively communicate all pertinent information to the customers and drivers
- Optimize use of fleet resources by directly communicating with other dispatch planners and operations supervisors
- Prepare accurate routing schedules, assign drivers and trucks, and schedule call ins
- Timely update of software information, notes, issues and routes
- Cross system training & coverage for breaks, illness, training and holidays
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer services skills conveyed with a positive attitude
- Excellent planning and prioritizing skills
- Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of trucking regulations and legislation
- Assertive verbal communication skills
- Team player with confidence to work independently
- Experience in dispatch or transportation industry seen as asset
