Description

The Financial Controller position be responsible for implementing a set of financial controls, procedures and policies to ensure the day to day financial record keeping is being recorded and compiled into user friendly management reports for the CEO and Board of Directors to make strategic business decisions.
The Financial Controller will be accountable for the following:
- Assume responsibility for the fiscal integrity, reporting, and risk management of CVL, including stewardship of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and approval items with the Board.
- Be responsible for ensuring ongoing effective daily fiscal management is delivered by staff.
- Be advocate and leader of the CVL Fin/Admin Policy.
- Direct the drafting of new policies and procedures as required, for Board approval.
- Oversee the completion of annual reviews by administrative leadership regarding existing policies and recommend changes to the Board as required.
- Lead the transition of financial record keeping and potentially payroll system from its current contract relationship to in house delivery within CVL.
- Develop new project financial proforma statements for financing and project development opportunities.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the existing team to bring up to date any existing and overdue book keeping and files.
- Evaluate the current structure and establish a new record keeping system, including digitization of current files.
- Bring up to date all federal remittances/ claims and become the primary point of contact with CRA.
- Development of annual budgets and project budgets.
- Oversee annual audits and working with auditor to ensure timely and accurate audits.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, GL accuracy, cash flow management, inventory reconciliation, asset listings, etc.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual profit and loss financial statements to the CEO.
