About the Role:
iQmetrix is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Cloud Automation Developer / Operator to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) department. SRE focuses on delivering platforms and standards for product development and delivery, with emphasis on automation and secure self-service platforms. Our team is distributed across Canada: onsite in Vancouver, Regina, and Winnipeg.
As a Cloud Automation Developer, you will monitor the health and uptime of our Kubernetes clusters as we transition more of our microservices into AKS and Kubernetes on-prem. You will develop automated scripts to manage clusters, container storage and deployment pipelines, and configure cluster services such as Flux, cert-manager, and Istio. This role presents an excellent opportunity to grow and/or flex your expertise with Kubernetes while working with technical leadership across many of our product departments. This role will have some on call work expectations.
Qualifications:
Desired Skills and Requirements
3+ years of professional experience in either software development or systems administration  
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps
Experience with cloud infrastructure IaaS and PaaS (e.g. Azure, GCP, AWS)
Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, Prometheus)
Experience building and maintaining distributed applications
Experience designing fault-tolerant systems
Proficiency with Git
